Once a long time ago, I met a witch deep in a fourteenth century palazzo in Naples, and she asked me a series of questions. Only once I had answered did she reveal their meaning. Perhaps those questions are amongst the following:
Choose a color, a temperature, and a direction. Meaning: The first is your humor, the second is your orientation, the third is where you’re going when you die.
Choose three numbers between one and twelve. Meaning: The first is the House in your astrological chart that Venus loves, the second is the House where Venus is afflicted, the third is the House where Venus is irrelevant.
Choose a metal, a fluid, and a solid. Meaning: The result of a reaction that fully consumes all of them is your true essence.
Choose three colors. Meaning: The first is your undertone, the second is your best eyeshadow color, the third is the color the sky will be when your life begins.
Choose a time of day, a place, and a weapon. Meaning: The first is how you’ll die, the second is where, and the third is what will be used to kill what kills you.
Choose three fish. Meaning: The first is how you are with yourself, the second is how you are with the world, the third is how you are with the divine.
Choose a fruit, a seasoning, and a pastry type. Meaning: The pie that suggests itself is your just dessert.
Choose a texture, a feeling, and a sound. Meaning: The first is the substance of the garment the angel that guards you is robed in, the second is how they look on you, the third is the call of their particular trumpet.
Choose a flower, a tree, and a fungus. Meaning: The first is you soul, the second is your self, the third is your spirit.
